His work has also appeared on several broadcast and cable channels. This film received the First Place Award in the Conservation Video category of the 2008 Our World Underwater/Wetpixel/DivePhotoGuide competition, and has led to heightened attention being brought to manatee dive operator procedures and safety guidelines, and an outpouring of support for increased protection of these amazing animals. Surgeonfish are colorful members of coral reef communities throughout the tropical Pacific Ocean, popular with divers and aquarists. Their brilliant colors are a warning to potential predators of their sharp defenses.
