Description:
This internship will help the student learn about the business of operating a zoo or theme park and will allow them to be an active participant of a growing guest service program at the #1 zoo in the country. Job functions include but are not limited to working in the Guest Relations offices at the Zoo and Zoombezi Bay, assisting at the Call Center, working with the department manager on guest service training initiatives, assisting with employee relations programs and some daily operations duties.
Requirements:

·          College student studying Public Relations, Human Resources, Hospitality Management or related field.
·          3rd or 4th year status preferred.
·          3.0 or above accumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale.
·          Prior experience in guest service, operations or hospitality preferred.
·          Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Creative writing skills are a plus.
·          Excellent guest service skills.
·          Must be neat in appearance and maintain courteous behavior at all times.
·          Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays required.
·          Ability to work in a team environment.
·          Ability to work in extreme weather conditions (i.e. heat, cold, rain).
·          Willingness to assist in other areas when necessary.·          Subject to Drug Free Workplace Policy.
·          Subject to BMV check.
·          Subject to Criminal Background check. 

Assignment Date:  Spring/Summer 2010 
Hours: Minimum of 20 hours/week. Weekend availability required. 
Salary:  $9.00/hour
